Design and Display

Like its smaller brother, the iPhone 8 Plus flaunts a premium all-glass design. It is among the first phones from its American maker offering glass on the rear. This is probably the only thing on the outside that sets it apart from its predecessor. The company claims this glass is the most durable on any phone to date.

The water and dust proof device crams in a large 5.5-inch Retina HD display. The IPS touch screen actually has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. That’s more than 400 pixels per inch. It comes with oleophobic coating.

Camera

The iPhone 8 Plus differs from the regular variant in the camera department. It offers you not one, but two 12MP sensors on the rear. The main wide-angle camera uses a six-element lens with an f/1.8 aperture. The second telephoto shooter has an aperture size of f/2.8.

Camera features include phase detection autofocus (PDAF), 2X optical zoom, optical image stabilisation (OIS), and quad-LED dual tone flash. Apple promises better bokeh effect in shots. You get a 7MP front camera with Full HD video recording capability for selfies.

Hardware, Software and Other Features

A new in-house A11 Bionic chip provides the muscles to get things done in the iPhone 8 Plus. The six-core chipset offers better processing and graphics crunching, as one would expect. Support comes from 3 GB of RAM. Buyers can get the device in a 64GB or 256GB variant.

The iPhone 8 Plus flagship comes with latest Apple iOS 11 operating system. The American tech company promises awesome augmented reality (AR) experience. Plus, audio is louder and bass deeper.

You get speedy dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless connectivity. There are NFC and Touch ID for Apple Pay and seamless unlocking. For the first time ever, Apple offers wireless charging support on a flagship smartphone. iPhone 8 Plus also supports fast charging.

iPhone X Specs and Price

Unveiled alongside the iPhone 8 and its Plus variant, the iPhone X is a special device marking the 10th anniversary of the Apple flagship smartphone. You actually call it the iPhone Ten (iPhone 10). iPhone X offers a bit better specs than the other two, including facial recognition and a larger edge-to-edge OLED display.

iPhone X Smartphone

Design and Display

The almost bezel-free, glass design of the iPhone X is impressive. It is unlike anything we are used to in the range. You may be amazed to learn that it comes in a smaller body than the iPhone 8 Plus despite cramming in a larger 5.8 display. But the iPhone X loses the physical Home button that many people have gotten used to, along with its fingerprint scanner.

Talking about the display; this uses OLED technology. The iPhone X is the first iPhone to offer such. This promises awesome visuals with a resolution of 2,438 x 1,125 pixels. Almost 460 ppi pixel density indicates you can realistically expect jaw-dropping clarity.

Camera

The iPhone X offers you improved 12MP dual-lens camera on the rear – one wide-angle lens and one telephoto lens. Both come with optical image stabilisation (OIS) for a promise of superb shots. The sensors are faster and larger.

The 7MP TrueDepth selfie camera is probably the best you have seen. It offers a variety of features for selfies you will be eager to share. It also works for 3D tracking.

Hardware, Software and Other Features

Apple’s latest A11 bionic chip does the business on the iPhone X. This particular chipset is said to be more powerful than the ones you find in both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The hexa-core processor will run latest 3D games seamlessly. It also promises impressive augmented reality.

Also, latest iOS 11 operating system ships with the phone, bringing along several new features. In place of the iconic Touch ID comes Face ID that lets you unlock using your eyes. Apple says the battery will last two hours longer than the iPhone 7. The iPhone X supports fast charging and wireless charging.

Pricing and Availability

Pre-orders for the iPhone X will begin on October 27, while the device will hit stores starting November 3, 2017. iPhone X is available in 64GB and 256GB models at $999 and $1149 respectively.

The iPhone X is not yet available in Nigeria, Kenya, or Ghana and we have no info on official pricing and availability at this time. iPhone X Price in Nigeria is expected to range from 375,000 Naira to 550,000 Naira, depending on your location and built-in storage.

Price in Ghana is expected to start at around 3,200 GH₵. iPhone X Price in Kenya is expected to start at around 179,999 KSh.
