Like most of the Chinese smartphone maker around, Leagoo is well known for its wide range of budget smartphones. Already they have a number of budget smartphones and one of its recent addition is the Leagoo KIICAA Power that comes with a dual rear camera and a fairly large battery capacity. Most importantly the smartphone comes with a very affordable price tag.

As a budget smartphone the Leagoo KIICAA Power is quite a stylish device. Although made from plastic the aesthetics is quite impressive for a low budget smartphone. Despite not trending the recent bezel-less approach with a rather low 66% screen to body ratio the back panel compensates with a nice polished matte finish.
The standard display for a low budget smartphones is a 720p panel, so it’s not a bit surprising that the Leagoo KIICAA Power sports a 5.0-inch 1280 X 720 pixels display with a pixel density of 294 ppi. Although not comparable to the vibrant display of high-end smartphones it pretty much gets the work done.
Battery and CameraIn a budget smartphone you’d expect a small battery capacity, however, the Leagoo KIICAA Power is powered by a 4, 000mAh Li-Po battery which is also removable something that is somewhat rare in most smartphones today.
One of the interesting features of this device is it’s dual rear camera featuring an 8MP and 5MP sensor combination. On the front side, there is a 5MP camera which takes acceptable selfies at least for a budget smartphone.
Hardware and SoftwareWe all know that budget smartphones are always accompanied by a low grade hardware. However, a Quad-Core MediaTek MT6580 processor clocking at 1.3GHz is not really bad for a budget smartphone. It is also accompanied by a 2 core ARM Mali-400 GPU for graphics rendering.
In addition, the Leagoo comes with an impressive 2GB RAM and a 16GB internal storage expandable to 32GB using a memory card. The smartphone runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat based Leagoo OS 3.0 Lite.
Pricing and AvailabilityThe Leagoo KIICAA Power is widely available for sale in various smartphone outlets. It goes for a price ranging from 22, 000 naira to 30, 000 depending on the deal and location.
Here are a few specs of the Leagoo KIICAA Power:

This might be nothing, but what if Jumia is planning to launch a UK store? You might be wondering why I am asking this question. On January 5, Jumia announced System Maintenance for the platform of its Affiliate Marketing program. Attempting to visit the platform, takes you to a page where you see a list of Jumia domains offering affiliate relationships. The United Kingdom is one of the countries listed on the page.
See image
Pointing on the link, shows it is connecting to www.jumia.co.uk. However, clicking on the link, redirects you to Jumia Nigeria.
Like I pointed out in the beginning, this might just be nothing. Jumia probably has its domain registered across multiple country code top-level domain (ccTLD). So, it is not out of place that there is a Jumia UK domain. What is unusual is that they are showcasing it side by side their live domains. It is not normal linking a parked domain to a web page.
What if Jumia UK is comingBut what if Jumia is launching a UK store? How will they implement it? As a store targeting consumers living in the UK or as a store connecting consumers in Nigeria and Africa with goods and services in the United Kingdom and vice versa.
I think the second approach will probably work better than the first approach which will require Jumia going face to face with eCommerce giants like Amazon in the UK.
The United Kingdom is already a popular shopping destination for the rich and middle class consumers in Nigeria and across Africa. These class of consumers are also more likely to be more receptive to shopping online than the rest of the population. So, there is probably a reasonable market for Jumia to Tap here. In addition, Jumia can also use the platform to connect merchants and businesses in Nigeria and Africa to consumers in the United Kingdom much in the same way as online stores like AliExpress and Alibaba has done for China.
Again, this might just be a whole load of nothing. I did not contact Jumia for comment. The entire article is based on a single link I saw on a web page
