Fero has been in the smartphone business for a while now and has built quite a reputation for itself in the African market. A Lite version of the Fero Royale Y2 released earlier this year is latest product. The smartphone is very much like its predecessor with just minimal changes between them. It also has a striking resemblance to the Fero Pace 2 spec sheet having the same RAM size, same screen size & resolution and a similar camera configuration.

The Fero Royale Y2 Lite features quite an attractive look similar to the ones before it. However, a close look reveals how much of a low budget smartphone it is owing to the plastic body. The smartphone has a 2.5D curved glass screen and a rear panel that has not too visible antenna lines. In all, overall ergonomics seems okay for a budget smartphone at least.
Much like most budget smartphones from Fero, the smartphone also comes with an HD display and has a frequently used 5.5-inch size. Having a 1280 X 720 pixels display is nice for a budget device and it s serves the intended purpose perfectly.
Battery and CameraFero smartphones usually comes with a large enough battery capacity for a smartphone of its category. It features a 3, 900mAh Li-Po battery which should be enough for daily usage without any need to constantly charge your phone.
As I mentioned earlier, the smartphone has a similar camera setup to the Fero Pace 2 with the same camera pixel on both sides. Similarly, there’s a 13MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera having flash on both sides.
Hardware and SoftwareCommon to what you have in budget smartphones, the Fero Royale Y2 Lite also comes with a similar low budget SoC. On the inside, you will find a Quad-core MediaTek processor clocking at 1.25GHz and a Mali GPU.
Also, you have a 2GB RAM which is okay for navigating through apps with ease and a 16GB internal storage space. Ideally, it supports expansion with a memory card up to 128GB. In addition to this, the smartphone runs on Android 7.0 OS from the box.
