Comparison: Huawei Y9 (2019) vs Tecno Camon 11 Pro

Comparison: Huawei Y9 (2019) vs Tecno Camon 11 Pro
Huawei Y9 (2019) vs Tecno Camon 11 Pro

On today’s table of smartphone comparison are two ‘midrangers’ from two popular Chinese-based smartphone manufacturers, Huawei and Tecno Mobile. The Huawei Y9 (2019) was recently launched by Huawei as the successor to the Huawei Y9 (2018) it released earlier this year.  The Camon C11 Pro, on the other hand, is the bigger variant of the newly released flagship duo from its camera-centric Camon series; it was released alongside the Camon C11.

Under the headers below, we will highlight the differences between both devices as well as the some of the similarities they share.

Huawei Y9 (2019) vs Tecno Camon 11 Pro Design and Build

Upon visual examination of both devices, the first thing to notice about both devices is their reflective polycarbonate body. The Huawei Y9 (2018), however, scores more aesthetic points as it is more beautifully designed than the Tecno Camon C11 Pro. The Huawei Y9 (2019) has a 3D curved glass on the front while the Camon C11 Pro glass covering is 2.5D curved. In addition, both devices sport rectangular notches at the top of the display but the Huawei Y9’s notch is smaller –despite housing two selfie cameras– than the Camon C11 Pro’s notch with just a single selfie camera, front-facing LED flash, and call speaker.

Huawei Y9 (2019) vs Tecno Camon 11 ProTecno Camon C11 Pro

Both devices have their dual camera set-up, LED flash and fingerprint sensor all in the same position on the rear. The paint job and available colours of the Huawei Y9 (2019) makes it more interesting. The device comes in three different colour options (Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue, and Aurora Purple) all of which have a reflective gradient pattern. The Tecno Camon C11 Pro, on the other hand, is available in only “Nebula Black” colour.

Huawei Y9 (2019) vs Tecno Camon 11 ProHuawei Y9 (2019) colour variants

Due to the high battery capacity of the Huawei Y9 (2019), it is slightly heavier (173 grams) and bulkier than the Tecno Camon C11 Pro (155 grams). However, the Huawei Y9 (2019) generally looks more visually appealing. Also, due to the 3D curved glass, it is more convenient to hold in the hands than the Camon C11 Pro.

Display Huawei Y9 (2019) vs Tecno Camon 11 ProHuawei Y9 (2019) display

Both devices use LCD capacitive touchscreen but the Huawei Y9 (2019) has a bigger (6.5-inch) display than the Camon C11 Pro (6.2-inch) and their aspect ratios measure 19.5:9 and 19:9 respectively. Asides from having the bigger display, the Huawei Y9 (2019) produces better-looking images because it sports higher resolution (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) and has its pixels more closely packed together (396 ppi) than the Camon C11 Pro with a resolution of 720 x 1500 pixels and 268 ppi.

Huawei Y9 (2019) vs Tecno Camon 11 ProTecno Camon C11 Pro display

To add, you might want to exercise extra care when handling the Camon C11 Pro as it doesn’t come with display protection of any sort. The Huawei Y9 (2019) trumps the Camon C11 Pro in this aspect as it sports a high-tensile scratch-resistant Nippon Electric Glass (NEG).

Hardware and Software

On the software side, the Huawei Y9 (2019) runs the Android Oreo v8.1 operating system which is based on Huawei’s native EMUI interface. The Camon C11 Pro also runs the Android v8.1 Oreo OS but based on the latest version of Tecno’s proprietary interface, the HiOS v4.1

The Camon C11 Pro is powered by a MediaTek MT6762 Helio P22 system-on-chip with eight Cortex-A53 cores that all run at a speed of 2.0GHz. Huawei used its proprietary HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset on the Y9 (2019). The chipset is also an Octa-core processor with eight cores; four 2.2GHz Cortex-A73 and four 1.7GHz Cortex-A53 cores. Per storage, the Tecno Camon C11 Pro comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage built-in. There’s a dedicated micro SD card slot that supports storage expansion up to 128GB.

The Huawei Y9 (2019) comes in two variants based on storage configurations. The base version of the device comes with a storage combo of 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM while the higher variant comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. Interestingly, both variants of the Huawei Y9 (2019) come with SD card support of up to 400GB.

Albeit both devices run the same Android Oreo (v8.1) operating system and the same amount of RAM, the Huawei Y9 (2019) wins in this category as it boasts of a faster processor.

Camera

Starting with the Huawei Y9 (2019), it comes with a dual rear setup comprising of a primary 16MP PDAF sensor with a f/2.0 aperture and a secondary 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The Camon C11 Pro also comes with dual camera on the rear but it slightly betters the Huawei. The C11 Pro has a primary 16MP wide-angle lens with a wide f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 5MP camera.

On the front, the Camon C11 Pro boasts of an AI-powered 24-megapixels lens with f/2.0 aperture size accompanied by a LED flash. Huawei’s midranger comes with dual (13MP + 2MP) selfie shooters on the front, right within the compact notch. The Huawei Y9 does not have a front-facing LED flash like the Camon.

This category is a bit difficult to judge but Tecno wins it easily; this is, however, still subject to the quality of images the shooters produces in real-world, not on-paper specs.

Battery

Both devices sport non-removable Lithium-Ion batteries but the Huawei Y9 (2019) has a capacity of 4,000mAh while the Camon C11 Pro carries just 3,750mAh. All things being equal, the Y9 will provide longer usage hours and standby duration.

Price

The prices of both devices could vary according to storage variants, the location of purchase as well as the store of purchase. However, generally, the Tecno Camon C11 Pro starts at about NGN 76,000 while the Huawei Y9 (2019), about NGN 80,000.

Conclusion

The Camon C11 Pro and Y9 (2019) are both brilliant and interesting piece of tech from both Tecno and Huawei. Both devices are built for the midrange market but manage to sport high-end features and specifications that almost gets you confusing them to flagships.

If you love your phone beautifully designed with a big display that produces brilliant images and colors, long-lasting battery as well as fluid multitasking, the Huawei Y9 (2019) is your best bet. The Tecno Camon C11 Pro also does all the aforementioned things, but not as good as the Y9. However, camera-wise (particularly for selfies), the Camon C11 Pro is a good one.

Understanding Wi-Fi Printers and Wireless Printers
Printer buying guide

The connectivity options of a printer are today one of the most important elements for choosing a model. Indeed, a printer must be as communicating as possible, to be put in relation with as many different devices as possible.

For now, a simple PC is no longer the only medium that requires a connection to the printer: cameras, smartphones, tablets, e-mail, cloud storage. All these devices and services  can take advantage of a direct to the printer, without going through a computer, so that printing or sending a scanned document can be done from the printer.

Among the possible connections, Wifi and Bluetooth printer have a place of choice. Simple and wireless, these wireless technologies are compatible with a wide variety of office and personal devices.

But how do you choose a printer based on these connections? How exactly do these two types of connections work and what are their comparative advantages? What are the prices of printers accepting Wi-Fi connections, and printers accepting Bluetooth?

Wifi/Bluetooth printers: a fast connection for simple network
Wifi printers now represent a considerable proportion of the personal and professional market. They allow simple networking, at the local network level but also to take advantage of Internet-related features.

How Wi-Fi printers work
Wi-Fi makes it possible to connect a printer to a local office network without having to use any particular wiring. It is a kind of wireless version of the Ethernet printer, which has long since found its place in business. The Japanese manufacturer Epson was the first to market a Wi-Fi model in 2003.

The installation is simplified and only depends on the presence of a Wi-Fi router, which automatically detects the printer. In the case of a home network, the router will automatically assign a dynamic IP address, that is to say, temporary, which can be automatically changed without the user having to make any setting.

The setting of a fixed address is always possible and will allow the use of functionalities necessary for use in the company, like the networking between several computers of the same printer and the exchange of files.

Wifi says “direct” allows the printer to communicate directly with a computer, a smartphone or a tablet, without going through the router.

To connect a Wifi printer to a tablet or smartphone, two installations are possible:

– With Apple hardware (iPhone, iPad …), it is possible to use AirPrint technology that allows the equipment to communicate with your printer through wi-Fi. For this, the printer must be certified Airprint  ;

– With equipment from another manufacturer, it is necessary to use an application (usually offered free of charge by the manufacturer). Of course, the “wifi printing” apps offer print functions, but others offer additional features such as scanning (the document scanned by the wifi printer is displayed on the screen of the tablet).

Benefits of Wifi connectivity

The advantages of a printer using Wifi networks are many:

– It’s a wireless technology,

– It’s an extremely widespread technology on a variety of media,

– It is now a simple technology, which does not require network installation skills in the case of use of dynamic IP addresses.

Canon Powershot G7 X MARK II Specs and Price

Yes, DSLRs are good. In fact, to take professional photos or starting a professional photography journey, it is probably the best camera you should learn how to use. However, they get bulky and become too much to handle sometimes. Amateur or professional, there are times when you just need an alternate camera. A small one at that; one that does the work for you. That’s where a point-and-shoot (P & S) camera comes in. Better yet: that’s where the Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II comes in.

The compact camera from Canon succeeds the original Canon Powershot G7X and is one of the best high-end point-and-shoot cameras you could get as a photographer. It is, however, not bound to photographers alone though. Need a camera to capture moments in the best of quality while on vacation, at a party, or at any event at all, the Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II gets the job done.

Canon Powershot G7 X MARK II Key Specs Dimensions: 106 x 61 x 42 mm (4.17 x 2.4 x 1.65 inch) Weight: 319 g (0.70 lb / 11.25 oz) (including batteries) Max resolution: 5472 x 3648 Effective pixels: 20 megapixels Sensor size: 1-inch (13.2 x 8.8 mm) Sensor type: BSI-CMOS Screen: 3-inch tilting TFT LCD touchscreen ISO: Auto, 125-12800 (expandable to 25600) Focal length (equiv.): 24–100 mm Max aperture: F1.8–2.8 Max shutter speed: 1/2000 sec Digital zoom: Yes (4x) Manual focus: Yes Design

Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II

Sporting a metal body, the Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II is sturdily built and compact. The body form and design is basically the same as the original G7 X (compact and pocketable) but there are some new additions that make this camera even better and easier to use. The G7 X Mark II is a bit chunkier and comes with fewer buttons which are all grouped together at the right-hand side of the camera to aid easy one-handed usage of the device.

Canon Powershot G7 X Mark IIThe Powershot G7 X Mark II fits perfectly on the average adult palm; that’s how compact it is.

Also, due to the slippery finish of the metal body, Canon has added a rubber grip at the front for more comfort and ease of handling when using the camera. The control ring (read: dial) around the lens at the front has also been improved to allow users choose how the dual responds/clicks when the dial has been moved. There is a switch below the lens that users can toggle to set their preferred dial click to either smooth or clicky. There is still no viewfinder which is a bit disappointing but there is mode (manual, semi-auto, full-auto, hybrid auto, and mode) dial as well as a dedicated exposure dial.

Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II

Another major modification to this camera is the position of the LCD display’s hinge. The hinge is now positioned at the top which now allows the LCD touchscreen tilt downwards up to 45 degrees and up to 180 degrees upward. The original G7 X could only be tilted upwards because the hinge was at the top of the display. The touchscreen also makes shooting on the Powershot G7 X Mark II a breeze as you can tap subject(s) on the screen to focus on it. Tap to focus also works for videos as well.

Features and Key Upgrades

Like its predecessor, the Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II uses a 24-100mm f/1.8-2.8 lens to take high-quality images and video. However, with this model, Canon is bringing much more improvement to the G7 X-series in the aspect of performance, ISO noise reduction, buffer depths, image sharpening, and overall shooting performance. Also, thanks to the processor, cycling times for single shots have been reduced to about 0.6 seconds from about 0.9-1.3 seconds on the original Powershot G7 X. In addition, the G7 X Mark II has the capability to record 14-bit RAW files at 5.4 frames per second (with full autofocus) and 8 frames per second (with locked focus). This is a very impressive improvement from its predecessor which could only record 12-bit RAW files at 1.2fps.

Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II

The Digic 7 is a new processor which debuted on the G7 X II. For video recording, Canon introduces a new 24p option which brings a cinematic shooting experience. The top resolution for capturing video still remains 1080/60p. The G7 X II is also the first Powershot from Canon to come with a “Fine Detail” Picture Style; a feature which makes images more “real and natural’ by allowing users finetune sharpness-related parameters.

Battery

The battery life of the original Powershot G7 X was poor, at least when compared to other compact cameras from rival brands like Panasonic and Sony. The G7 X only allows users take as much as 210 pictures. With the Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II, however, you can conveniently take 265 shot before needing to recharge as battery life has been beefed up by 25%.

Conclusion and Price

As a professional photographer, the Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II is perfect for days when you just want to leave our chunky DSLR at home. For ono-photographer individuals and families, it will take the best of family pictures at any event and gathering. It is also super easy to use, got improved battery life, and you can easily get pictures and videos rolling in minutes. It is also WiFi compatible and using the Canon Camera Connect App, you can remotely take images and videos, adjust zoom and focus settings, transfer photos among other things all from your Android and iOS phone.

It, however, comes at a price as it isn’t exactly cheap. The Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II costs more than half a thousand US dollars; US$ 599 precisely. You can purchase it a local camera store or at any trusted online store like Amazon, Best Buy etc.

How do Commercial Espresso Machines Work?

An Espresso machine underneath all the fancy bells, whistles and chrome is like a forest of wires with metals and screws in it. The basic mechanism by which most machines brew an espresso is by forcing pressurized water near boiling point through a “puck” of ground coffee and a filter, producing a thick concentrated coffee called espresso.

The first espresso machine was invented in 1884 by Angelo Moriondo of Turin, Italy. Since then, innumerable designs have been innovated and manufactured and most of them share some common parts.

Simply put, they all do the same thing i.e force hot water through finely ground coffee. Some machines may also come with a steam wand which is used to steam and froth milk for drinks like cappuccino and caffe latte.

You can vary the taste of espresso in the same machine by varying the fineness of the grind or the amount of pressure used to tamp the grinds. Experienced baristas prefer pulling espresso shots directly into a pre-heated demitasse cup or shot glass because this helps them maintain a higher temperature of the espresso.

Espresso machines can either be steam-driven, piston-driven, pump-driven, or air-pump-driven. They are also available as manual or automatic. Get affordable, high-quality espresso machines from ECM in UAE through UAE Ekuep. To make things simpler, here is a list of what every part of a basic espresso machine does:

Reservoir- The Water Source

All espresso machines need a water system which is usually determined by the capacity of the machine. Water can either be sourced through a small reservoir or directly from a plumbed mains connection. Reservoirs are placed in machines with smaller volumes while a high capacity professional machine uses a piped source.

A reservoir is basically a removable container that is filled up with water by hand. It lets you control the water quality as compared to direct plumbing that uses tap water. A reservoir will hold the cold water that’ll be used to prepare the espresso. It is neither pressure-tight nor is it heated yet. Heat and pressure are applied once the water is pulled into the pump and the boiler.

Pump

To push water from the reservoir into a pack of finely ground coffee, machines need pressure and that’s where the pump comes in. It pushes the water into the heating chamber at high pressure. The pump needs to apply 9 bars of pressure which is almost equal to 130 psi.

Espresso machines used in earlier times had pistons attached to large levers and baristas would manually pull these levers to force the water into the coffee. Hence the phrase “pulling a shot”.

There are two kinds of electric pumps, the vibratory pump, and the rotary vein pump. Commercial espresso machines come with a rotary pump to supply constant pressure while domestic machines are featured with a vibration pump. Vibratory pumps are smaller, cheaper and easier to replace while rotary pumps are quieter, consistently pressured and generally more durable.

Boiler/Heating Chamber

The boiler/heating chamber is a sturdy, stainless-steel structure that has a heating element attached within a groove at the bottom. This is the component where water coming from the pump is heated. Most espresso machines come with electric heating elements to boil the water. A simple coiled wire, such as that in a filament of a light bulb or in an electric toaster, gets hot when the machine is turned on and becomes inert when turned off. A one-way valve in the heating chamber ensures that the water doesn’t go back into the pump from the chamber.

The size of the boiler may vary depending on the capacity of the machine. The bigger it is, the more drinks it will produce. Commercial machines usually have a double boiler system. So they have one boiler solely for brewing, and one for the steam wand. Water temperature has a major impact on the strength of the coffee and varying temperatures can alter the taste of the shot. Double boilers make it easy to have different temperature needs because the water for brewing has to be at 93℃ (200℉) whereas for steam it needs to hit a 100℃ (212℉).

Grouphead

Coming in from the heating chamber, the water now lands in the grouphead. This component passes the hot, pressurized water through the bed of coffee placed in the portafilter inside it. A grouphead comprises of a Portafilter, a place for the portafilter to attach, a passage to start the pump, and a pathway for the water to go into the portafilter.

A grouphead will have several tiny holes so that the water can pass through with an even, cross-sectional flow through the ground coffee. While domestic traditional espresso machines have one grouphead, commercial machines often have more than one.

Portafilter

A portafilter is a portable, removable filter which consists of a metal filter basket set inside a handle with two-pronged spout. The portafilter is that part of the machine that holds coffee grounds. The basket also has two spouts at the bottom from which the espresso comes out and flows into the cup. Finely ground coffee is placed in the filter basket and then compressed by a tamp, before being locked into the machine. The portafilter is then attached to the grouphead component to seal it.

Portafilters come in varying sizes but the two most commonly used are the 53mm and 58mm. The 58mm is used for commercial espresso machines but both of them can facilitate the same quantity of ground coffee when attached to correct baskets. Always make sure you buy the corresponding size tamp because even the smaller tamp won’t evenly compress all of the coffee in a if used on a bigger portafilter.

Steam Wand

The steam wand produces steam to heat and froth milk for use in a variety of espresso drinks. This wand, if present in the machine, is connected to the heating chamber. When the valve is activated to steam position, steam from the heating chamber is released out of the wand and into the milk.

Control Panel

The control panel comprises of an on/off switch, two indicator lights, and a control valve. The lights show when the machine is turned on and when optimum temperature has been reached. The control valve activates the flow of water through the portafilter, or it may start the flow of steam from the steam wand. Two micro-switches control the pump and heating temperature.

Discount Code – A Blessing in Disguise
Promo Codes

Whenever we hear this word ‘DISCOUNT,’ our blood rushes in our veins, and we are above ninth cloud because it means we can avail certain pleasantries regarding our favorite brands at a more economical price range.

With the increase in the price value, the discount codes are like rays of hope. Imagine, you have a discount code for a branded clothing line or any food restaurant, how immensely happy you will be.

This is what the marketing companies aim for. All those people who have discount codes, they will definitely go for it.

Basic Logic Behind Discount Codes:

Usually, the logic behind the discount code is to increase the quality of the sales rather than the profit margin of any single product.

Companies or brands issue the discount codes all around the year because they want to keep their customers attracted towards them. This is a more tactical kind an of thing.

Companies give away discount codes to attract their customers to buy their products without worrying about price issues. Any high-priced item with some percentage of discount off means like a gold. People always rush towards anything that seems a little beneficial in their way.

Real Market Value:

With the market overflowing with brands everywhere and food restaurants are opening around every corner of every street, it is only natural for the competition to get higher.

With the increase in the race of high profit and fame, many brands and companies take aid from the discount codes. They not only help in increasing the sales value but also make the customers very happy.

A happy customer always comes back to that particular brand. It is also a perfect way to market your brand. People always talk about the discount codes, and they are always looking for it.

Discount Codes vs Sales:

Discount codes should not be mixed up with sales. Sales are entirely another aspect of any business, and its effects are also very different. It is commonly understood that women cannot resist a good sale. But with sales, there are always some limitations. Like sales can happen in any particular season or on any specific lot which might not be needed at that particular moment. But discount codes work instantly. If you have the discount code, you can avail it. This is as simple as it can get.

Nowadays everyone is super busy in their lives. They literally have no time for themselves. People are hell busy in working day and night trying to make their ends meet. Every nickel counts.

In such times, getting a discount off anything is a pleasure which everyone wants to avail. Sometimes it happens that we have discount codes with us, but nothing suits us according to that discount, but we make a mental note to ourselves that this particular brand gave discounts.

It is going to happen again, and maybe next time, I will get something out of it. It is our human nature that we always expect something good from that person or thing which has already done something nice.
