Just in case you don’t know Yu, it is a sub-brand of Micromax just the way Honor is to Huawei and Redmi is to Xiaomi. The Yu Ace is another try at the budget smartphone market which is heavily competitive by the way. Like every other smartphone in this league, the price of the Yu Ace is low, offers a decent value for money and tries to bring an attractive design to the table. Find out yourself if it offers all of the features you like.
There is about the conventional budget look on this smartphone with the 18:9 aspect ratio and a plastic body to go with it. In a bid to have a reflective glass kind of back, the smartphone features a glossy back which is maybe a bit over the edge. You can remove the back of the smartphone to access the battery underneath something that is quite rear these days. There is the fingerprint scanner located where you can easily get it at the back with a camera at the top and a flash beside it.
Aiding visuals on the smartphone is an average screen with a diagonal length of 5.45-inch and a resolution that doesn’t quite add many details to what’s being displayed. Furthermore, the screen doesn’t have any notch, just a conventional straight bezels around the screen. The resolution here is 1440 x 720 pixels on an LCD panel of course.
Battery and CameraThere is an adequate amount of juice on this smartphone to cater for the battery draining exercise you might decide to embark on with the smartphone. A 4, 000mAh battery have your back, dishing out power on the smartphone. For an entry-level smartphone, this is definitely a better battery capacity with a MicroUSB port for charging.
You can do some subliminal snapping with this smartphone, although, you’re not expecting anything more than this. The Yu Ace carries a 13MP camera on the rear end of the smartphone and a 5MP front camera on the other side for selfies.
Hardware and SoftwareIn control of the operations on the smartphone is a rather low budget chipset with either 2GB or 3GB RAM each going with 16GB and 32GB internal storage space respectively. The MediaTek MT6739 very much handles the work, although, lags are inevitable. Also, you’ll be getting an Android 8.0 Oreo on the smartphone with light modification.
Yu Ace Pricing and AvailabilityThe smartphone goes for about 30, 000 Naira depending on the deal and your location.

HTC have really had trying times on their smartphones recently because of shortage in sales and it is undeniably because of the inability of the OEM to offer the level of value for money the competitors has. That said, this is another release named the HTC Desire 12s which offers slightly reduced specs than the Desire 12 predecessor. There is also a rather unconventional design on the smartphone but then you can see for yourself.

The front view of the smartphone is the usual ordeal and will easily blend with the sea of smartphones out there. However, things get a bit interesting flipping the smartphone so that the rear is visible and everything seems to be alright until you sport the camera position. Looking like a dual camera, the rear camera and flash are placed somewhere between the too left and the upper central fingerprint scanner. You can get the smartphone in silver, black and red colour variants depending on your choice.
Well, the display is very much a budget one with an HD+ resolution and a somewhat average sized LCD screen. There’s is a decent amount of bezel around the screen and it is a bit much at the top and bottom. All of these delivers only an average visual experience, nothing spectacular.
Battery and CameraOn to what’s keeping your smartphone on, you’ve got the 3, 075mAh battery in charge. Definitely a mediocre capacity, this is still sufficient for a smartphone being that several other smartphones in this category have a similar capacity. However, a USB Type-C would have been a better option than the rather old MicroUSB port featured on the smartphone. But then, what you see is what you get.
As per taking pictures, the smartphone has the same megapixel on both its front and rear camera. The rear 13MP camera has an f/2.0 aperture with PDAF, HDR and other features. Also, there is a 13MP camera at the front in charge of all of selfies, wefies or what have you.
Hardware and SoftwareMonths after the release of the HTC Desire 12, here comes a new smartphone in the same series. Only to come with a lowly Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor and an Adreno 505 GPU As it is with various smartphones out there, the smartphone has a different storage and RAM model. There is a 3GB RAM having a 32GB ROM and a 4GB RAM paired with 64GB storage space. The storage space max out at 512GB with a memory card addition using the hybrid a lot.
HTC Desire 12s Pricing and AvailabilityThe smartphone costs about 80, 000 Naira depending on the deal and the location.
Here are a few specs of the HTC Desire 12s:

Alcatel continues to update its Android Go portfolio with this year’s Alcatel 1c (2019) which goes all the way basic. The new smartphone has got the specs of a bottom tier entry-level smartphone and it doesn’t even try to hide it. It has a heavy bezel presence on the smartphone with a plastic build and other features strongly suggesting price-cut. All of these are the usual sign of an aggressively priced budget smartphone suitable for the low budget spenders.

The only trend featured on the smartphone build is the 2:1 aspect ratio. Besides that, what you’ve got is a small screen with no indication of the reduced bezel look. There is the small-eyed camera with the LED flash below it on a back cover that takes you back a few years with the way it appears. On the bright side, the plastic material used on the smartphone seems durable enough and then the colour options ranges from enamel blue, blush pink to Volcano black.
In this present age, a 5.0-inch screen like the one on this Alcatel 1C (2019? is a bit small if you think of modern smartphones. You now have entry-level smartphones up to 6.2-inch. In addition to that, there is a 960 x 480 pixels resolution. Colours appears washed out a bit but the display is still practically usable.
Battery and CameraMuch like the rest of the specs, there is not much of the battery capacity on the smartphone although this is about enough for the day. You’ll find a 2, 000mAh battery inside the smartphone which is charged by a MicroUSB port present at the bottom.
For the photography part of the smartphone, this smartphone is not within the crisp picture scope as it just offers shots that lack details. Taking a look at the 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera, you can see that not much quality is present.
Hardware and SoftwareA lot of entry-level smartphone with Go tag comes with about a similar setup as the Alcatel 1C (2019) right here. These include a 1GB RAM, 8GB storage space expandable by 32GB and an Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition OS. Although not quite as snappy as more costly options, the smartphone performs well enough for decent use.
Alcatel 1C (2019) Pricing and AvailabilityThe smartphone goes for about 26, 000 Naira depending on the deal and your location.
Here are a few specs of the Alcatel 1C (2019):
General Features Platform: Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) Processor: Quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731E GPU: – Memory: 1GB RAM Colours: Enamel Blue, Blush Pink, Volcano Black Dimension: 136.6 x 65.3 x 10 mm Weight: 148g SIM Type: Nano SIM SIM Count: Dual SIM Display Display: 5.0-inch, IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 960 x 480 pixels Screen Protection: – Camera Rear Camera: 5MP camera, 720p Video@30fps Rear Camera Features: Autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama Front Camera: 2MP camera, 480p Video@30fps Storage Built-in Storage: 8GB Memory Card Support: Yes, up to 32GB Bundled Cloud Storage: – Network Support 2G GSM: Yes 2G CDMA 1X: – 3G WCDMA: Yes 3G CDMA EVDO: – 4G LTE: – Internet & Connectivity GPRS: Yes EDGE: Yes 3G/WCDMA/HSPA: Yes HSPA+: 42.2/5.76 Mbps CDMA EVDO: – 4G LTE: – WLAN: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, wi-fi direct Wi-Fi Hotspot: Yes Bluetooth: Yes, v4.0 with A2DP LE NFC: – Infrared Blaster: – USB Port: MicroUSB 2.0 Messaging SMS/MMS: Yes Instant Messaging: Yes Push Emails: Yes Email Protocol: – Entertainment Music Player: MP3/WAV/eAAC+ player Video Player: MP4/H.264 player FM Radio: Yes Loudspeaker: Yes 3.5mm Jack: Yes Navigation Navigation: Yes, with A-GPS, GLONASS Maps: Yes Sensors & Control Digital Compass: – Accelerometer: Yes Proximity Sensor: Yes Light Sensor: Yes Barometer: – SpO2: – Pedometer: – Heart Rate Monitor: – Gyroscope: – Fingerprint Scanner: – Iris Scanner: – Face Unlock: – Intelligent Digital Assistant: – Motion Sensing / Gesture Control: – Voice Control: – Other Features Video Streaming: Yes Active Noise Cancellation: Yes Wireless Charging: – Built-in Mobile Payment: – Water Resistant: – Dust Resistant: – Image Editor: Yes Video Editor: Yes Document Viewer: Yes Document Editor: Yes Battery Battery: 2, 000mAh non removable Li-Po battery Talktime: – Standby Time: – Fast Charging: –The post Alcatel 1c (2019) Specs and Price appeared first on Nigeria Technology Guide.
Remember last year’s MWC, that was where the first of this smartphone series was released and now in this year’s MWC edition you’ve got another. The Alcatel 1x (2019) follow suit with the same entry-level specs but a better design deviating from what the predecessor looked like. This smartphone right here has about the same low pricing too as the ones before it. Particularly suitable for anyone looking for a light performer with a reasonable price tag.

The Alcatel 1X (2019) smartphones have a satisfactory build quality which is plastic – a choice material for low budget smartphones. Thankfully, it doesn’t have a glossy finish that is known to be prone to smudges and fingerprint magnet, instead, it has a smooth dapper look. There are two separated circular eyed cameras along the middle of the phone with the flash and fingerprint on the same line below it. The smartphone is very much lighter than you might think weighing just 130g and is available in pebble blue & pebble black.
There is an average sized screen on the smartphone, one that comes with a mediocre resolution, although, a good one for the price. The display is hugged by a thin bezel at the side but much bigger ones at the vertical apices. The screen measures 5.5-inch diagonally and the resolution at 1440 x 720 pixels.
Battery and CameraExactly what is considered as average is what the smartphone offers but then again it is just an entry-level smartphone, this is excusable in the sense that the specs do notwarrant much of the power as a midrange or high-end smartphone would. You’ve got a 3, 000mAh capacity on the battery and a MicroUSB port for charging.
On the optics side of things, there is a dual camera at the side good enough for the price and a selfie sensor that pretty much handles the social media jamboree. The two cameras positioned on the rear side are a 13 and 2MP pair while the solo 5MP takes the frontline.
Hardware and SoftwareYou’ve got to hand it to MediaTek, they are the most featured on entry-level smartphones and the MT6739/is very popular in recently made smartphones in that category. Also, featured on the Alcatel 1X (2019), the processor does the daily routine of keeping things running on the smartphone. Assigned to graphics like gaming or other activities that requires graphics rendering is a PowerVR GE8100 GPU. In line with entry-level specs is a 2GB RAM and a 16GB storage space with a memory card support up to 128GB. However, it is a bit disappointing that it still has Android 8.1 Oreo on it instead of the latest pie version.
Alcatel 1X (2019) Pricing and AvailabilityThe smartphone goes for about 44, 000 Naira depending on the deal and your location.

One of BLU’s speciality is making am entry-level smartphone look premium albeit not feel premium in the hand. Introducing the Blu Vivo One Plus (2019) which carries the fading wide notch and a svelte design that look more valuable than it actually Is. There is a large screen, wonderful aesthetics, dual camera and to cap it all, budget price. It is usually a good feeling when someone guesses your smartphone price much higher than it actually iss. And thhis is going to be mostly what you would experience having this phone. Enough on the looks, lets get into the details here.
Jumia Nigeria – See Offers
No denying that this is a good looking smartphone one that has a rather wide notch above its display. However, the charm here is silver finish which gives it a nice polished look combined with the little bezels around the display. The absence of chunky bezels lends a hand to how premium looking the smartphone is. Furthermore, there is the adoption of the iPhone XS dual camera style that contributes to the gold look in a look-alike manner and also a fingerprint scanner right where it should be at the back panel.
There is about the usual display serving content to your eyes covering just most of the front space. With respect to screen size, there is a bit of a large screen sized up at 6.2-inch. There is a pixel density of 268 pixels owing to the 1500 x 720 pixels resolution and a colourful screen with up to 16 million colours on display.
Battery and CameraThe capacity here is concerned with adequacy other than having a surplus of battery juice in the smartphone. That means, your smartphone will get to last a day on regular usage but nothing more than that. Also, current is being supplied to the 3, 200mAh battery through a MicroUSB port which should take about two hours to charge the phone.
The camera system here is cut from the same coat as the rest of the other budget smartphones. Ignoring the dual camera charade at the back, and focusing on the low-grade 13MP primary camera and 2MP depth sensors used.m which is still very much sufficient for occasional shots but nothing pristine here. You’ve got about the same quality of 8MP camera up in the notch
Hardware and SoftwareOver to the control centre or the powerhouse as you might call it. The Blu Vivo One Plus (2019) features about the same MediaTek MT6739 processor as most of the recent BLU’s Vivo family. In addition to this, you will find Android 8.1 Oreo on the smartphone as well as a 16GB built-in storage and a chance to expand the storage up to 64GB more. For the multitasking functions and navigation through apps you’ve got a 2GB RAM.
Blu Vivo One Plus (2019) Pricing and AvailabilityThe smartphone costs about 44, 000 Naira depending on the deal and your location.
