7 Problems With IT Outsourcing – TenoBlog

7 Problems With IT Outsourcing – TenoBlog

IT Outsourcing is commonly used by businesses. But there are quite many problems associated with it. Let’s see the problems below-

1 Threats to security:

The lifeblood of running the business is the proprietary information. The payroll can be compromised if you are transmitting confidentiality. This includes record, medical payroll or any other confidential information to the IT Outsourcing company. The account should also contain sharing proprietary data such as product drawing or formulas.

The outsourcing company should be properly evaluated to secure the data properly.

We should be aware if we keep the project or job in-house, this does not prevent leaks of info.

For a former employee to disseminate proprietary and any other types of information it is not unhappy for them. You can also require those people access to the certain information sign a nondisclosure or some confidentiality agreement.

2 Time factor:

Outsourcing

In the case of emergency, you will have to wait until your outsourced IT department can get someone there. Your emergency can be pushed back on many factors including when you’re also subjected to the calendar of your outsourced company.

At this scenario, you are at the goodwill of your outsourced IT department. The IT has still been in-house, the emergency would be dealt with right away.

3 Lacking the required skills:

The team may not perform the right skills required for their new roles if a Client puts a retained team in place to manage the IT Outsourcing implementation and ongoing operations. According to the research by TPI, 40% of clients in the benchmark are not given an initial training for the governance team assigned to manage the agreement. 60% of staffs who were assigned to the governance organization have no proper outsourcing experience.

There are only 20% of the clients feel like they had provided enough ongoing training for their governance team.

Most clients only consider existing staff within their own organization. Usually, they want to keep people with the best technical and business process experience. But these assigned people sometimes have a very hard time while making the switch between performing or managing the day to day and holding the service provider accountable.

4 Managerial Control Loss or Increased Efficiency:

Outsourcing can involve another company can perform the function of an entire department or a single task by signing a contract. Means handing over the reins of management and control of that function over or another company.

You cannot assume the outsourcing company can be driven by the same standard as before. Includes the mission that drives your company and it probably will not share your passion.

The new outsourcing company will be primarily running to make a profit from the services it’s providing to you. On the other side profit is a great motivator.

You can easily trust that the outsourcing company has considerable experience in the service it’s offering you. The outsourcing company makes sure to do the job well because it wants to do stay in the business.

The job might be performed to higher standards than if you kept it in-house and outsourcing can eliminate the sometimes rocky transition can take place when training members of your own in-house team.

It can free up your employees to allow them to deal with higher standard key functions of your business when outsourcing has a more mundane task.

5 Relationships between Employees:

IT Outsourcings

This may not seem like a big issue but many companies have come across it many times. When the employees are in-house they know each other and they also know how to interact with one another.

If you are outsourcing your IT, there is only little chance you may get the same engineer showing up every time. This state’s your employees must get used to different contractors and how they work.

It’s really hard to build the relationship with outside staffs. But bringing in IT from the outside causes a fluctuation, this may not always be a problem. But many companies have seen it creates an issue to the point where an engineer may ban from being deployed to a client.

6  Poor knowledge:

Outsourcing can create uncertainty for existing employees and contractors who provide services to the client and their organization. This may lead the employee to look elsewhere for employment and leave their organization either before or while during the IT Outsourcing implementation.

It causes a need to either backfill the resource or to reduce the amount of work performed by the organization. Also, some of the clients engaged in the temporary knowledge that transfers to the service provider during the implementation. When the staffs are not properly motivated or if the service provider does not do a good job with good knowledge transfer, this may cause decreased efficiency in service delivery.

This can become a major issue if it is not properly addressed. Both service providers and clients should recognize the importance of these issues and generally make a reasonable attempt at mitigation.

7 Control and Decision:

One cannot control an external company. Therefore you have one more cog in a machine which is already so complex. Adding more layers and pieces can only lose more and more control over the company’s behavior, performance, and growth.

Th IT Outsourcing issues will be argued back and forth until IT is no longer relevant. Many have seen its effects from nearly every side. But they rarely do it work as well as those initiations the process would hope.

It is because it is not a completely flawless system. When the ideas of saving some salary come to mind many issues get overlooked. The IT should choose wisely where to spend the money because the return could make or break the company.Author Bio

7 Best Microwave Ovens to Purchase for Various Needs

7 Best Microwave Ovens to Purchase for Various Needs

Whether for a home or work kitchen, you will find out that it is overwhelming to sift through the available microwave oven options in the market. True, all of them will heat up your food, but not all of them will give you the kind of quality that you deserve.

More than the basic function, you should always look for a microwave oven that promises you so much more. That brings us to the list of best microwave ovens to purchase in today’s market.

Here are the five most useful and user-friendly microwave ovens you can find on the market today.

1 MasterChef Microwave Oven (11 Ltr)

MasterChef Microwave Oven (11 Ltr)

On closer observation of the name, one can tell that the MasterChef Microwave Oven (11 Ltr) would be able to hold a volume of 11 litres at any one time. What cannot be told from the name is the presence of a powerful heating element that is rated at 650W.

Featuring a multi-colour design, the 15-minute bell timer is there to ensure you never forget what you are doing in the kitchen. The deal is even bettered with the auto shutoff function to prevent overcooking and burning of food items.

There is a unique selling point for this unit that is presented in the availability of baking, toasting and grilling unit, all in the same setup. To cap it all off, the unit is accessorised with a crumb tray and baking pan.

2 AKAI Microwave Oven + Grill (20 Ltrs)

AKAI Microwave Oven + Grill (20 Ltrs)

A larger house or business setup (in the catering or related niche) will benefit a lot from the 20-litre span available in the AKAI Microwave Oven + Grill (20 Ltrs).

The oven is able to handle combination cooking (grilling + microwave) processes at the same time. Having a total of 5 power control levels, the microwave is rated at a power of 700W. The grill is even ahead of that, taking on an 800W rating instead.

All that is complemented with a turntable that rotates while the food is being processed, ensuring a uniform distribution of heat. Optic wave technology leverages the latest engineering to make the heating process very efficient.

Asides the beautiful design on the outside, the inside of this unit is coated with anti-bacterial paint to further keep your consumables safe.

3 LG Microwave Oven MWO 6044

LG Microwave Oven MWO 6044

LG is not a new name for household appliance markets. In fact, they made that known with a strong statement on the LG Microwave Oven MWO 6044 which incorporates a Quick Defrost feature into its design. The unit is also fitted with a 700W microwave, 550W grill and flawless roasting capabilities (thanks to the two-stage cooking process).

The stylish, freestanding form factor makes it an ideal fit for most kitchens and the modern cook too.

4 Nexus Microwave Oven 20L

Nexus Microwave Oven 20L

If you are tired of monochromatic microwave ovens, the Nexus Microwave Oven 20L has you covered. It would be needless to reiterate the holding capacity of this unit but it is worthy of note that the oven can pull up to 1000W of heat energy per time. That ensures very fast cooking and supports the claim of an Auto Defrost technology being in place.

As much power as this microwave oven can pull though, it still manages to come with a low voltage starter. Even if the power supply is not at a very high voltage, you would still be able to run your oven. Promised to be highly compatible with even small generators, 5 power levels will give you all the cooking flexibility you could ask for.

5 Linsan Microwave Oven

Linsan Microwave Oven

Another 20L capacity option, Linsan Microwave Oven has an impressive 6 different power levels for the desired cooking results. Depending on how long you think the food might take to get done, you are allowed to set a timer from anywhere between 0 – 30 minutes. In that time, the 700W microwave is sure to have gotten the job done, or be on its way there.

This unit is for the experienced cooks who would rely on manual operation rather than having a machine do the talking for them. Finished with an easy coating on the surface, maintenance of the oven is a joy on its own. Did we mention that it will also work well on small generator sets?

6 Midea Microwave Oven 20L

Midea Microwave Oven 20L

They might not be the most popular brand around, but Midea holds its own well with the offering of their 20L Microwave Oven. The first thing that catches one’s attention of the unit is the white colour. It is more than aesthetics though, featuring a powerful 800W heater, a very impressive 11 different power level controls and a cooking and signal.

Another standout feature on this unit comes in the form of touch controls to further make it user-friendly for everyone. With energy consumption efficiency at a very good high, the only downside the unit has would be in the colour which could easily get tainted.

7 Sharp Microwave Oven (R-20CT-S)

Sharp Microwave Oven (R-20CT-S)

If what is in your mind was a basic, entry-level unit that did only the most basic things, the Sharp Microwave Oven (R-20CT-S) fits in just fine. With a power rating of 800 Watts, the oven is up there with some mid-range units in its heating capacity.

Aesthetically, the silver coating coupled with a black door design would catch anyone’s fancy. Elements of the design include a 5-power level knob, timer function and an interior that can hold as much as 20 litres in volume.

After going through the list, you would agree that these represent some of the best microwave ovens to purchase. The needs of the caterer, home cook or whatever lifestyle a user might lead is satisfied by the options above. Coming with different customisations of power level options, colour, design and combinations, all that is left is for you to place your orders.

Jumia Express – Fast and Low Cost Delivery for Online Shopping

Jumia Express is a value added service by Africa’s leading online shopping destination, Jumia, to ensure fast and cost effective shipping for its customers in Nigeria, Kenya, and across  Africa. The Jumia Express service is also one of the online store’s weapon for fighting substandard products at the store as the items are directly handled and shipped by Jumia.

How to Identify Items qualified for Jumia Express

Items that qualify for Jumia Express are pretty easy to identify. There is a badge clearly indicating that they are qualified below the item’s price in the category and search pages.

Jumia Express BadgeYou can clearly see the Jumia Express badge on the HTC Desire 820S. The iPhone X has no badge

On the product page, you will see the badge on the right sidebar.

Jumia also now has a direct link where you can access all Jumia Express items. This is more or less like a one stop shop for Jumia Express items, Click Here. The downside of this page is that you cannot filter by category for easy access.

However, there is a search box on the page, which means you can do a search of an item or item class to see results of those that qualify for the Jumia Express service.

Also, when you are on a category page, you will find a Jumia Express filter on the left sidebar. Clicking on it will show only products that are Jumia Express qualified.

A Jumia Express Filter on a Category pageA Jumia Express Filter on a Category page

On Mobile? Tap on Filters on the category or search page. Then, tap on Free Premium Services and tap on the Jumia Express filter and then tap on the Apply button.

How Jumia Express Works

Under the Jumia Express service, the merchant sends the items to Jumia’s warehouse for both physical inspection and storage before the items are listed on the online store. This means that items labelled as Jumia Express are checked for quality and physically located at Jumia’s warehouse when you order, which results in faster and cheaper shipping.

How Jumia Express Benefits Online Shoppers

The fact that Jumia directly handles your orders comes with five major benefits, I list them below

1. Cost Effective Shipping

When you order products labelled Jumia Express, your shipping cost is consolidated, which is more cost effective. Let us say you want to buy three standard items labelled Jumia Express, you pay almost the same cost as if you are ordering just one item. Say the shipping cost is 1000 Naira, Jumia will likely charge you 1000 Naira for all three items. Of course, there are exceptions like for bulky items, but the cost will never cost anywhere near what you would have paid if you ordered 3 items that were not labelled Jumia Express. To compare, the same order could cost 3000 Naira (or even more) without the service.

But why is shipping cheaper with the service? The answer is simple. Consolidated shipping. Because all the three items are in Jumia’s warehouse, they are packaged together, and you pay the appropriate fee depending on weight and bulk. For products not labelled Jumia Express, especially when you are ordering from different merchants, each merchant will ship each item independently resulting in higher shipping cost.

2. Faster Shipping

Jumia is more efficient at handling and shipping than its independent merchants. Since Jumia is directly responsible for fulfilling orders of Jumia Express items, they tend to be delivered faster. In fact, Jumia promises next day delivery for items ordered in Lagos and from 2 days delivery for items ordered outside Lagos. Sometimes, you can even get your order same day in Lagos if you order before 11am.

In my own experience, I have also found out that items that are directly fulfilled by Jumia arrive faster. Independent merchants take longer to deliver, and in a few cases, they even end up not delivering the item. Jumia is even offering free shipping in Lagos, if you order items labelled Jumia Express worth 15,000 Naira or more.

3. Receive all your Orders at once

Say you ordered a shirt, a pair of trousers, and a pair of shoes from different independent merchants on Jumia. Each merchant will be responsible for shipping one item. So, three days after you placed your order the shirt arrives, then a day later the trousers arrive and two days later the shoes arrive. Say these items of Fashion are to be worn together, you will have to wait 3 days from the delivery of the first item to see how they all fit together.

With Jumia Express all three items are shipped together by Jumia, even though they may be offered by different merchants. You can get them as fast as the next day if you live in Lagos. You can start trying all the items on immediately. This is the very definition of convenience.

4. Buy Quality Products

Jumia physically checks items offered by independent merchants who subscribe to Jumia Express before listing them on their website. This ensured one, that the product is available and two, is of good quality. Ordering items from merchants who subscribe to the Jumia Express service is one way to protect yourself from buying substandard products at Jumia.

5. Better Customer Service

Jumia offers better customer service than its independent merchants. Buying on Jumia Express is like buying from Jumia directly and results in a better shopping experience.

Free Shipping in Lagos

Jumia is offering free shipping for Jumia Express orders worth 15,000 Naira and above in Lagos. This means that if you place an order for qualified items, Jumia will deliver them at no delivery cost to you to any location in Lagos within one or two days.

However, there seems to be a caveat: “Large items are not qualified for this offer”. Though it is not clear what Jumia’s definition of a large item is but am thinking like Refrigerators. This means that items like Mobile Phones, Laptops, and Fashion are qualified.

Why Join Jumia Express as a Merchant

Am sure if you are a merchant, these benefits that Jumia Express offers to customers is already enough to convince you to subscribe as a Merchant. However, I am going to add two more here. Jumia is now optimising placement of items at the store to favour Jumia Express products. Visit any category or search for any item on Jumia right now, items with the Jumia Express badge are usually at the top of the results.

This may not be obvious for some items, but for popular categories like smartphones or Android phones it is quite obvious. What is happening to the smartphone category today could eventually happen to all categories including the one you sell. Joining could mean more visibility and by extension more sales.

Jumia also has a good reason to prioritise Jumia Express products, because it enables them streamline their service and offer an overall better customer experience to their customers. So yes, expect Jumia Express to become more popular. Your only move is to join now.

Another reason to join is that Jumia will offload the tedious work of fulfilling orders. Jumia will warehouse, package, and ship your orders allowing you to concentrate on other more important areas of your business.

How to become a Jumia Express Merchant

To become a Jumia Express Merchant, first you have to be a Jumia merchant by registering for the Jumia Seller Centre account. Once your application is approved, you will have to upload the product you wish to sell on your Jumia Seller Center account. When the products are now live on the Jumia store, turn them off then contact your vendor support team requesting to join Jumia Express by sending an email to seller.support@jumia.com.ng.

Jumia will then schedule a day that you will deliver the product for warehousing. Of course, before accepting the product, the Jumia team will check the products for quality and authenticity. Once you are approved your products will now be shown on the online store with the Jumia Express badge. Jumia charges you 99 Naira per item for small items and 199 Naira per item for medium items.

Your products will be stored by Jumia for three weeks within which they are expected to have sold-out. If there are still unsold stock after the first 3 weeks, you can decide to get them back from Jumia. However, Jumia will still hold and sell your products for another three weeks with no additional cost, but you will be required to discount the product in order to boost sale.

After the second three weeks, you will be required to take back the products. You will have another three weeks to do this or the products will be deemed forfeited to Jumia.

To become a Jumia Merchant Click Here, and to learn more about Jumia Express and how it benefits you as a merchant as well as learn how to use Jumia to boost your business, visit the Jumia Vendorhub Here.

That ends our comprehensive guide about Jumia Express. If you have any comments or questions, we would love to hear from you.

5 Best Kitchen Blenders on the Market in 2018

5 Best Kitchen Blenders on the Market in 2018

Whether you are looking for something to grind your vegetables, make your pepper into a fine liquid or reduce your fruits into beautiful smoothies, a blender/ mixer/ grinder will always be the first point of call. Being one of the most versatile and useful home appliances, it is surprising why many people would not have one of their own.

To take care of that, we have compiled the list of some of the best kitchen blenders on the market. We have taken a lot of factors into consideration when coming up with this list too. The functionality of the blenders, their flexibility, applicability and as well, affordability for different pockets.

If there is something you are looking for in a grinder of your own, best believe you will find it below.

1 Saisho S-999 Blender

Saisho S-999 Blender

One of the things that stands out with the Saisho S-999 Blender is the assortment of options that the manufacturer has packed into one unit.

It all starts with the addition of up to 6 buttons for the control. Asides these 6 buttons, the blender also packs 2 different speed levels to control the whipping motion and velocity of the grinding materials.

When you are done with blending, storage and maintenance of the unit are also accounted for. With an easy-storage, rolling cable, you do not have to fear cuts to your wire. Working in the blender is a combination of sturdy, steel blades that ensure the highest level of fineness. They are also detachable, allowing for easier cleaning of the overall unit.

While maintaining a low energy consumption level, the blender is also bundled with a circuit breaker that would prevent a burn out of the motor at undesirable operational conditions. To wrap it all off, the mixer performs both wet and dry grinding while giving off minimal noise

2 Master Chef Electric Blender

Master Chef Electric Blender

If you are familiar with the name of the company behind this unit, you will already agree that it could not be a rip-off in any way.

The Master Chef Electric Blender is a highly flexible unit that can be used to grind anything from pepper, ginger, garlic and tomatoes to some other dry materials. The sharp, sturdy rotating steel blades at the bottom of the jar unit make sure nothing escapes the grind. What makes this blender stand out the most is the prescience of two mills.

Two speed levels also give you the option of making a smooth puree of your ingredients (think how good smoothies would come out from this unit) and also, get some ingredients to a fine powder form.

Overall, the unit is capable of holding 1 litre of materials at any one time and is rated at a maximum power consumption level of 300W

3 Binatone Blender/ Grinder BLG-450

Binatone Blender/ Grinder BLG-450

Binatone is already a household brand, so it would be an insult if a great option such as that presented in Binatone Blender/ Grinder BLG-450 does not make the list. You would also agree that it is a nice pick if you considered the fact that the 1.5L capacity blender comes with a Pulse Mode for cleaning out the rest of your product, a scratch-resistant and break-proof glass jar and as well, a splash-proof lid.

The good news does not end there. The unit still packs impressive features such as a specially toughened goblet and safety lock mechanism. Promised to make a fine grind of your pepper and tomatoes, the same grinder would give fine powders of your coffee beans, nuts and other spices.

4 VTCL Blender Grinder and Mixer set

VTCL Blender Grinder and Mixer set

Some people use their mixers and grinders for more than just the basic household functions. Those are the types of people the VTCL Blender Grinder and Mixer set was made for.

Having a power rating of 750 watts, such high consumption is justified in its operations. The grinder and mixer set come with two sets of fittings for, obviously, grinding and mixing operations. Both jars to fit in these slots have been equipped with sharp copper blades that will work for up to 30 minutes without stopping.

The heavy-duty grinder will take very good care of both wet and dry grinding, promote the motor against electrical overloads and retain the sturdiness and durability it came with. Truly something for the more than average user

5 QASA Blender

QASA Blender

Offering a simplistic design, the QASA Blender is an ideal fit for someone who doesn’t want something too flashy but still gets the job done. On first look, the unit could be misleading as to its strength, but it is a very strong and sturdy package.

Coming with a spatula to aid easy mixing, the blender unit provides for grinding different kinds of vegetables and fruits. It also ships with a smaller jar that has been designed to handle dry grinding, so users are covered o that end too.

Other important features of this unit are the speed settings which rely on the powerful motor and still operates with little noise.

From that list above, we don’t think there is anything you need to blend that won’t get handled well. You have the double mixers, single blenders, dry and wet grinders and so much more. We promised you the best kitchen blenders on the market, and that we delivered. You can let us know what you think of the options in the comments section.
