At its historic September 12 annual hardware event that took place at the company’s Cupertino campus in California, Apple unveiled a next-generation smartphone — the Apple Watch Series 4 or Apple Watch 4. Highly anticipated, Apple didn’t disappoint as the Watch Series 4 has been redesigned to include a wide range of health and fitness features that its predecessors lacked.

With the Watch 4, looks like Apple is ready to displace whatever brand/product at the top of the smartwatch chart.
Apple Watch 4: DesignDesign-wise, the Watch 4 doesn’t bring on any major modifications to the regular rectangular shaped accessory we know Apple watches to have. Apple have, however, brought on a bigger screen for users who wished their current Apple watches had a bigger display. The Apple Watch 4 comes in two sizes — 40mm and 44mm.
44mm Watch 4 (left) vs 40mm Watch 4 (right)Also, bezels have been shrunk to make the display 30 percent larger than what you’d find on the Series 3 without affecting the size of the smartwatch to a very large extent.
The display is curved at the edges while the face have corners which are curved to the sides/frame of the smartwatch. The slim bezels and curved edges gives the Watch Series 4 a slimmer appearance. Due to the slimmer architecture, the straps on the Series 4 are different from the Series 3’s. However, both straps can be used interchangeably. Meaning you won’t have to ditch your Series 3 straps if you plan on getting the new Watch 4.
Another design modification is the digital crown which now allows for more accurate scrolling on the Watch 4. Apple calls it “Haptic feedback”. On the Watch 4, the position of the speaker and microphone have also been modified; the speaker is now 50% louder. The speaker is on the right-hand side of the watch while the microphone occupies the left side. They previously occupied the same on the Watch Series 3 and it caused interference during calls.
About calls, the rear of the Apple Watch 4 is made out of black ceramic and sapphire to improve cellular signal and call quality. The rest of the Watch 4 face is made from (either) stainless steel or aluminum materials. Aluminum model of the Watch Series 4 is available in Silver, Gold, and Space grey colour options while Stainless Steel edition comes in Space Black and Gold colours.
Health FeaturesThe major highlight addition to the Apple Watch Series 4 are health-related. The biggest health function of the Watch 4 is unarguably the new ECG function. For the first time ever, a smartwatch will be able to accurately run an Electrocardiogram (ECG) test. For reference purpose, an electrocardiogram (ECG) is a test which measures the electrical activity of your heart to show whether or not it is working normally (BloodPressureUK).
The digital crown and the sensors on the ceramic & sapphire rear allows users successfully run ECG. With the Watch 4 on your wrist, all you need to do is to place a finger on the digital crown. Approved and cleared by the Food and Drug Administration, the Apple Watch 4 is the first ECG device that will be sold directly to customers over the counter.
It is worth noting that the ECG function requires a separate app which won’t be available until later. Apple hasn’t fixed any date yet but promises the app will roll out to the Watch 4 later in the year.
Another interesting health feature of the Watch Series 4 is the ‘Fall detection’ function. Basically, the Series 4 comes with the capability to detect when you fall and are unconscious. The watch is smart enough to tell an unconscious person from a sleeping one through the movement of the arms. In the case where the watch detects unconsciousness, the Series 4’s next line of action is to automatically go into SOS mode and contact emergency services while also sending your coordinates/location to your emergency contacts.
The Series 4’s heart monitoring functionality has also been improved to become more sophisticated. Unlike other series, the Watch 4 will now be able to detect low heart rates and irregular/abnormal heart rhythms.
The Watch 4 is powered by and S4 processor chipset and laced with the new watchOS 5 preinstalled. Battery size on the Watch 4 is the same as the Watch 3 and Apple claims that it will also be able to supply 18 hours of usage.
Pricing and Availability
The Apple Watch 4 is presently available on pre-order only but official shipping will commence September 21. The GPS and Cellular model of the Series 4 will see for £399/$399 and £499/$499 respectively.

Going back to the days of the Blackberry smartphone without the physicql keyboard plus a bit of the modern way of doing things births the Blackberry Evolve. Featuring an all screen fascia surrounded by the normal.bezels in a nice typical Blackberry style. Opting on the large display wagon, the BlackBerry Evolve has quite a display real estate on it Besides, what the smartphone offers is the latest Blackberry experience on a smartphone without the qwerty keyboard. However, the specs on the smartphone are not that great you would have to have a look at the Blackberry Evolve X.
The Blackberry Evolve looks like a smartphone from before and it is so because it maintains a similar kind of build Blackberry used years ago. There is a matte finish at the back and the smartphone is predominantly made of polycarbonate materials. In fact, the smartphone looks a bit inferior to other smartphones in its price segment. It has a central vertically arranged dual camera with a flash beside it and a fingerprint scanner directly below.
Space for visual on the smartphone extends to 5.99-inches of the smartphone surface and not with the trending bezel slimming either. Although, it is an LCD display contrast on the smartphone is fair enough with a decent colour accuracy. The pixel density is 402 ppi and with a resolution of 1080 X 2160 pixels.
Battery and CameraThe battery size on the smartphone is ample which means a till the ending the day use. An intense use of the phone can cut that down dramatically due to the fact that how long the 4, 000mAh battery will last is subject to use. It also features Quick Charge 3.0 to refill your battery fast than the conventional charging method.
You could count on the Blackberry Evolve to take pretty good pictures when lighting is favourable but not so much when it is otherwise. The duo at the back is a pair of 13MP cameras while the one positioned at the front is a 16MP selfie camera.
Hardware and SoftwareThere Is going to be some difficulty selling the smartphone with the quality of chipset inside. When you check the cost of the smartphone, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC with Adreno 506 GPU is definitely not the best of choice. That said, the smartphone will also be shipping with a 4GB RAM and a 64GB internal storage expandable to 256GB. Blackberry offers the Android 8.1 Oreo on the smartphone with some useful addition by them.
Blackberry Evolve Pricing and AvailabilityThe smartphone will sell for about 125, 000 Naira in various phone sales outlets when it goes on sale come October.
Here are a few specs of the Blackberry Evolve:

Blackberry just made the nice qwerty keyboard available at a much lesser price tag. The Blackberry Key2 was a more expensive model so a cheaper version was made while striping down some features off it. Leaving us with the Blackberry Key2 LE. Outwardly, the two smartphones look like one another, with the Blackberry Key2 being the better looking one. The smartphone is certainly not for everyone as the qwerty keyboard might not be for some.
As much as the Blackberry Key2 and Key2 LE look alike, the latter has some key difference. First, the smartphone has a more comes with a more cramped up qwerty keyboard and the capacitive functionality removed from the keypad. The space bar on the keyboard still serve as the fingerprint reader and capacitive buttons are still on the screen. At the back, there is a rubber covering and a polycarbonate frame which makes it much lighter than the Key2 which has a matallic frame.
The screen on the smartphone is a bit lesser than what you might be used to on other touchscreen smartphones. Not the ideal choice for movies or gaming, the smartphone is good eniugh for social media and surfing through the web. The 4.5-inch screen is radiant with a resolution of 1080 X 1620 pixels on it.
Battery and CameraFor this particular smartphone, you have just enough to get you through the day. By enough I’m talking about a 3, 000mAh battery which according to the maker will give you 22 hours of standard usage. Besides, there is Quick Charge 3.0 on it to top up your battery faster.
Taking pictures on the Blackberry Key2 LE is good in well lit areas like outdoors during the day. However, when it’s getting dark, the pictures start to look not too good. The two cameras at the back are placed side by side, one 13MP main sensor and another 5MP camera. On the front porch, the smartphone adopts an 8MP camera for your selfies.
Hardware and SoftwareFor the remainder of the features, not much as changed as you still have the same set of octa-core chipset. That is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor and Adreno 509 GPU for graphics. The RAM size is 4GB while storage space can be either 32GB or 64GB. You can make expansion up to 256GB if you want to plus it also comes with a heavily modified Android 8.1 with a promised update to Android 9 Pie soon
Blackberry Key2 LE Pricing and AvailabilityThe smartphone will cost you around 145, 000 Naira for the 32GB variant and for the 64GB you would have to pay about 163, 000 Naira. It will not go on sale until the end of September or there about.

For a while now, the Android One have been rumoured to be coming to a Motorola phone. The answer to that is here, the Moto One is a mid-range smartphone with the stock Android software and some nice features. Wrapped in a nice well built body, with a standard average internals and impressive aesthetics. It features a notch just like a number of smartphones in the market at the moment and the mediocre display. In China, this same snartphsmais known as the Moto P30 Play.
It is quite commendable that Moto One has a simple and yet attractive design from the rounded edges to the minimalistic bezel approach. Each of the dual camera at the back are well separated from each other with a flash in between all located at the top left side of the rear cover. At the bottom, there is Android One inscribed and a fingerprint scanner built into the Moto logo. The smartphone is also P2i water resistant (hydrophobic nanocoating technique of the internals). There s a noir model that has a glass rear instead of the metallic build of the regular smartphone.
The smartphone is not really much of a mid-range contender when it comes to the display on the smartphone as you have just an HD+ resolution. Although, the size is right being a large screen market we have these days the notch on top might be something you want or don’t want. Extending 5.9-inch in length, the smartphone is a suitable for movie watching too but no so well with a resolution of 1440 X 720 pixels.
Battery and CameraPertaining to battery capacity, the Motorola One does not have a buoyant size, although if udiciously used you can get a day usage comfortably. Nonetheless, the 3, 000mAh battery is somewhat a regular occurrence in the smartphone world. To compensate, the smartphone features quick charge to replenish power in lesser time.
Partaking in the dual camera system, the Moto One offers an okay photography. The pair of 13MP and 2MP canmras at the rear side takes decent picture with portrait mode available also included with the lower pixel camera being for depth focus. In the notch, you’ll find an 8MP camera which also takes portrait pictures.
Hardware and SoftwareAs mentioned earlier, the Moto One is a mid-range smartphone which is why it has a mid-range chipset. Even if it’s not the best at this level ,the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 is a decent processor and the Adreno 506 GPU is not that bad either. In continuance, the smartphone comes with a 4GB RAM and an otherwise ample 64GB space for storage. You can expand the storage to a maximum of 256GB with a memory card. There is an Android One version of the Android 8.1 Oreo and a close update to Android Pie inbound.
Moto One Pricing and AvailabilityThe smarrphins sells for about 110, 000 Naira depending on the deal and your location.
Here are a few specs of the Moto One:

Sony is here with the successor to the Sony Xoeria Z2 series and it does look like a typical smartphone from the conglomerate. The Sony Xperia XZ3 is the latest of the flagship series and comes with a major improvement in the display section. Being the first time Sony will be making use of the OLED panel in its smartphone it is way better than the LCD screens we have been used to. There is not much of a diversion from the design blueprint seen in the former smartphones from Japanese OEM.
Following closely behind the design of the Sony Xperia XZ2, the smartphone has an all glass front and back. With a metallic famer that carries the curved glass from both sides making the overall thickness of 9.9mm still not noticeable. The back of the smartphone as an awkward arrangement, with a badly positioned fingerprint scanner and a single rear camera above it. Available colour options include Black, Silver White, Forest Green and Bordeaux Red.
It is safe to say that the display on the Sony Xperia XZ3 is the best so far and marks the switch to OLED finally. Overall colour representation has been improved significantly and you will quite blown away when the screen lights up. Recently the interest in bigger screen size have soared among smartphone users, in line with 6.0-inch size featured here. Flagship resokution is also recorded on the smartphone, at 1440 x 2880 pixels and a 547 ppi pixel density.
Battery and CameraAverage capacity is eventually what you find on the smartphone and what these can only assure you is an end of the day use. Combined with the fairly large screen, the 3, 000mAh is not really much when it comes to engaging your smartphone intensively. Aside that as a flagshp that it is, you’ll get quick charge and wireless charge support..
A bit of an improvement have been made to the camera and it doesnt feature the dual camera from the Xperia XZ2 Premium. The main camera is a 19MP f/2.0 aperture camera which is capable of capturing 1080p videos at up to 960fps – no other non-Sony phone can do this. On the side of selfies, the smartphone offfers a reputable 13MP camera. Daylight pictures are bright with vivid details and colour accuracy.
Hardware and SoftwareQualcomm chipset is still in the works and because of that the Xperia XZ3 comes with the same chipset in the XZ-series before it which is quite powerful. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor on the smartphone have shown in flagsips how good it is. Also, there is an Adreno 630 GPU in the mix taking on graphics.
Moreso, there is 4GB of memory space and a 64GB built-in space for your files to store. A Taiwanese edition has 6GB RAM alongside the same storage space ini the iothers as well as expansion of storage up to 512GB. It will also be coming with the latest Android OS – Android 9.0 Pie.
Sony Xperia XZ3 Pricing and AvailabilityThe smartphone is sellling for about 254, 000 Naira depending on the deal from the vendor and your location .Sale will not start until October 5th in the UK even if realease date other regions are not clear at the moment.

You could think of the Moto One Power as the Moto One with a bit more power and not only in battery capacity but also in other areas too. Known as the Moto P30 Note in the region of China , the Moto One Power comes with a bigger size and an interesting spec sheet. Although, you still get the notch and dual camera as in the Moto One, much improvement have been made to most part of the phone even the hardware. Have a look for yourself.
You can notice the striking similarity of the Moto One and One Power despite the latter being bigger. There is a similar dual camera design on the back but instead of being entirely separate, they occupy same cylindrical space. Like in previous smartphones, the Moto ‘M’ logo serve as the fingerprint scanner and below it is the Android One branding. It also comes with P2i coating making it splash resistant.
Bigger and better, the smartphone screen now has a FHD+ resolution and with.of course the notch. It has a 19:9 aspect ratio, therefore, it is not really that hard to carry a 6.2-inch without being too big in the hand. With a resolution of 1080 X 2246 pixels, you can enjoy a richer view on the smartphone than the Moto One.
Battery and CameraThis is were the real.power comes in as the smartphone now has a 5, 000mAh battery inside. IIt is 2, 000mAh more than what you have on the regular Moto One even if there is bigger screen to power. There is still enough left to last a day or two even if usage is fairly intensive and combined with the fact that it has Quick Charge is an advantage.
On the issue of how good the camera is, it is surely much better than the Moto One and it comes with an improved sensor. You now have a 16MP and 5MP dual camera at the back while the front camera have also been upgraded to a 12MP f/2.0 aperture sensor.
Hardware and SoftwareYou’ve got a bit of an upgrade in the hardware section, nothing drastic really. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 pricessop on the inside of the smartphone. Furthermore, it features an Adreno 509 GPU for graphics analysing and rendering.
In segue, there’s a variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage space. Also, a lesser model with 3GB and 32GB internal storage is available too. The two models can have their storage space increased to 256GB if they want to. As the name depicts, it also comes with the Android One version of the Android 8.1 Oreo.
Moto One Power Pricing and AvailabilityThe pricing of the snartphone is not clear yet but expect it to be more expensive than the Moto One.
